Ear Prompter Masterclass
Ear Prompter Masterclass
This goes way beyond teaching you how to use the ear prompter. We coach you through the performance styles and nuances of all of the major acting categories where the ear prompter is often used. And, of course, we also teach you how to use the ear prompter.
Many folks will say it's easy to learn the ear prompter. Just stick it in your ear, hit play, and repeat the lines you hear. And that's true. It's that easy. If you don't want to be very good at it. If you don't want to work consistently with major national producers. But if you want loads of pro tips, industry insight, and highly informed feedback on your performances... you don't want to miss this course.
We were just sitting at dinner at a fancy restaurant in Vegas talking with one of our producers on a job for a major global client, when the producer (unsolicited) said "I see loads of performers who say they are 'ear prompter proficient' but most of them do not have the mastery I need to be able to hire them."
Most of the performers they audition are missing at least one key element... And that one key element lives on top of a framework of skills too often skipped past. So yeah, we make sure you have all the tools to become truly PROficient.
Live Office-Hours
When you register for the course, you will start in on your two free months membership to "The Practice".
(it's not some "add on" membership that you will have to cancel. Your access to The Practice simply ends after 2 months, and you keep access to the Ear Prompter Masterclass course for the long haul.)
Inside, you'll find multiple Zoom office hours you can attend each week, hosted live by one of our teachers. Bring in your recorded homework for feedback, ask acting or business questions, or work live on-camera to hone your performance.
Two to three months is roughly the time most people take to work though the course material, and we will help out along the way with weekly motivational emails to keep you on pace. With your free months in The Practice, you should be able to fine tune most all the lessons in Introduction to Ear Prompter Masterclass and get live feedback just like you would in an 8 week class. (Need more time than that, we'll even tack on an extra free month!)
When do these office hours happen? Schedule may vary, but typically we meet Tuesday 9am, Wednesday 9am, Wednesday 6pm, Thursday 12pm (All times CT) plus some occasional special meetings. Can't make a meeting - we've still got you covered with Flex-Coaching!
100+ Lessons
On topics including:
FLEX-COACHING
This is our asynchronous portion of the class. And it's designed to be an awful lot like the workflow of REAL WORLD professional auditions.
You work, polish, record, and submit your performance on specific assignments, and one of our professionals will give you detailed recorded feedback as they watch through your performances and point out what needs work and what is spot on per industry trends.
Be confident that you are implementing the lessons successfully. Finish the course with a game plan specific to where YOU are at in your reads, just as you would with a live class.
26 Assignments
With way more content and assignments than we could ever fit into a 8 week live class, you won't just learn ABOUT the ear prompter - you will DO IT. And do it some more. And more. Till you own it.
6 of these assignments are flex-coached assignments. 20 more are opportunities to get peer feedback or LIVE coach feedback in office hours, and sharpen your eye as you watch the work of other classmates. All of these assignments will build the foundation of a career.
Bonus Material
Ear Prompter Masterclass comes with a walkthrough tour of a typical trade show, and gives you loads of tips it takes pros multiple jobs to figure out. Trade shows can be a tough world to break into if you don't already know what you are doing. We break that catch-22 for you.
Almost 5 hours of video
In a live class, most of your time is spent watching other actors work their lessons. The self-paced format lets us focus all on YOU. And we've loaded it with more specialized tips and tricks and concepts, and in a more focused structure than we could ever tackle when managing a group of live students. Best part is - you can watch it over and over again so you don't miss a thing.
You are not alone
We believe in the value of watching others work. So we've got a built-in community, and the ability to give and receive peer feedback on loads of the assignments. Ask questions. Share your experiences. Network. There is no "self" in "Self-Paced". At least not here. You are not alone.
